The School of Information Science, a part of the College of Communication and Information, is hosting a special guest lecture on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 5:30pm in William T. Young Library, Alumni Auditorium. Austin Knight, Senior UX Designer at HubSpot, will give a presentation on his user experience (UX) process and take the audience through a real world project at his organization.

"User experience" or "user interface design" encompasses all aspects of the end-user's interaction with the company, its services, and its products. It focuses on having a deep understanding of users, what they need, what they value, their abilities, and also their limitations. With the overarching goal of improving the quality of the user's interaction with end perceptions of a company's product or related services. This talk is for designers, developers, marketers, copyrighters, and learners who have heard about user experience or interface design, but don't really know much about these disciplines.

Austin's talk will introduce UK and local community members to UX techniques and design cycle - and we hope you join us!
