SAVS/School for Art & Visual Studies, SAVS 113

Do you dream of creating unique hand-lettered artwork but are not sure how to begin? (New paragraph) In this intro course, we will cover materials, walk through the basic hand-lettered alphabet together, and learn techniques and brush strokes to achieve a gorgeous look with your lettering. Students will gain knowledge and become more comfortable with brush lettering following a series of practice sheets using Crayola markers and Tombow brush pens. Participants will learn the proper lettering techniques, best practices, and some advanced lettering enhancements that take their work to the next level. You'll get plenty of guided, hands-on practice and take home a finished project and packet of resources to inspire you to continue lettering. (New paragraph) A $30 materials fee will be collected by the instructor on the first day of class. Students may pay with cash, Venmo, or PayPal. Led by Lexington artist Erica Cook of Concinnity by Erica, Letterer and Watercolorist. Questions about the workshop? Please email Erica at
