SAWH: Book Exhibits

Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 8:00am to 8:00pm

Gatton Student Center, Social Staircase
Avenue of Champions, Lexington, KY

This is an academic conference that draws historians from around the country who study the history of women in the United States, especially the U.S. South. Faculty, graduate students, museum professionals, book publishers, and archivists will all be in attendance. The main objective of the conference is to advance the scholarly dialogue about women’s history and to showcase the latest, most cutting-edge research in that area. The conference schedule will feature panel sessions (presentations of research), plenary sessions showcasing speakers and possibly films, workshops, as well as opportunities for networking, such as receptions. The History Graduate Students Association (HGSA) is working with the Department of History at UK to host the conference. Although the 2022 program committee has not yet created a specific or agenda, we can forward that to you as soon as we have it. It will be very similar to the program for the 2018 SAWH conference held at the University of Alabama. That program is available here:thesawh.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/sawh_full_schedule_v22-1.pdf
